THOMAS BONVALET : Film ‘Le silence du musicien’

Director Stéphanie Régnier, with her film ‘Le Silence du Musicien‘, delivers a long-form portrait of Thomas Bonvalet. Setting out to follow him on tour and to a cabin “deep in the woods,” where he records a new album in his singular way, she witnesses the rise of an illness that gradually drives Thomas into withdrawal and silence—while also prompting new reinventions of himself. The film is likewise the story of a courage and a strength that endure.
