‘A Particular Presence‘ is a radical, immersive, and rhythmic experience, where ghostly and uncertain apparitions of everyday objects circulate alongside absurd situations, approximate beliefs, and frightening pseudo-sciences.
Danse Musique Rhône-Alpes performs live within the piece, disrupting club music from the inside. Drawing inspiration from Footwork, Grime, and IDM, they create an apocalyptic version of the dance floor, where rhythmic experiments rooted in percussion practice intersect with unknown soundscapes, malfunctioning programs, and the use of a technology that is conscious of its own planned obsolescence. ‘A Particular Presence‘ shifts the concept of the “Haunted House” into our contemporary digital consumption, inviting us to inhabit two worlds that intersect and conceal one another, endlessly.
