BIO
Loup Gangloff is a French composer, musician and visual artist based in Paris, who’s been crafting and exploring -under the avatar – DMRA / (Danse Musique Rhône-Alpes)-, a singular vision towards club culture, physical experience of sound, and social constructs building-up around and from experiencing dance music.
DMRA has released 1 LP and 4 EPs since 2020, all which try to open paths and ways to understanding our relationship to body movement, rhythmic catharsis, rituals, and beliefs concerning the assimilation of electronic music.
A “chamber apocalypse”, “Weird Footwork” in which physicality and perpetual transformation, Club culture and self-destructive dance music, seem to build themselves up naturally, in a hurry and by their own means. Among lots of shows performed in the DIY European scene, DMRA has been invited to play at various European festivals like Nuits Sonores (Lyon) UH FEST (Budapest) , Positive Education (St-Etienne), Astropolis (Brest) And European clubs such as Puddel (Hamburg), Griessmuehle (Berlin), Sharing line ups with Gabber modus operandi, DJ Stingray, Zoe McPherson, HYph11E, Upsammy, Shackelton + Scotch Rolex..
In 2023/2024 Dmra started working also with Contemporary Dance (Robyn Orlin, Volmir Cordeiro), video game sound design, and as a Choreographer and installation artist in his own pieces.
At once musician, video artist, set designer and amateur paranormal investigator, Loup Gangloff tries to ask questions from a sick imitation of the real world, in which things seem to exist by their absence, their transformations, or their incompleteness, rather by a definite set of rules.
